New properties have become quite environmentally responsible or eco-friendly. They also feel good when you walk into a new place.

Buying a new property, regardless if it’s an Apartment, House, Unit or Townhouse, have many in-built features that will not only please you but have you take a step further to being a little more eco-friendly.

  1. Floor to ceiling windows – many new Apartments and Townhouses include very large window coverage, bringing in more natural light. Some also have balconies that provide greater fresh air during those warmer evenings. Reducing the need to use your air-conditioning and lights.
  2. Water tanks – House and Land packages often include water tanks. It’s a great way to save by recycling rainwater for your landscaped gardens. If you’re lucky, perhaps it can restock your swimming pool too.
  3. Insulation – new Townhouses and Units are well-insulated. This helps retain heat during the colder seasons while reflecting heat during the hotter season. With proper insulation, you will use less gas and electricity to cool and heat your home reducing the carbon emissions and your utility bill.
  4. Solar panels – New housing often provides solar panels. With Australia’s warm climate solar energy is an economical way to generate power through your home. If it’s to heat your water or kitchen appliances, why pay a utility provider when the sun offers it to you for free. It’s also an environmentally responsible means of energy.
  5. Bamboo – Timber flooring has become increasingly popular. Most people consider it a cleaner, hygienic and sophisticated. Bamboo is a wonderful choice of flooring. Its lightweight material provides a nice finish, but it’s also one of the fastest-growing trees in the world. This is an environmentally responsible choice as it regrows and replenishes itself.
  6. New modern kitchen appliances – Most would be delighted to have the latest integrated refrigerator, oven and dishwasher. New properties, particularly Apartments offer great European kitchen appliances that not only make food preparation easier, but they are also very energy efficient.
  7. Lighting – New properties provide modern style lighting featuring LEDs or CFLs that present wonderfully. They significantly reduce your utility bill and give out fewer carbon emissions. They can provide dimming and automated on/off options too. Old properties often have obsolete installed lighting that really requires large use of electricity.

We have a bias to new and off the plan property.  They look good, last longer and feel great.  We also acknowledge that modern property has become more economical to maintain and are becoming more eco-friendly.  Just some of the reasons why we are so passionate about it.
